We ready to grind. PSA I need a haircut ASAP! I look homeless lol. So if you are in Boise and know anyone or place that gives decent mens haircuts hit me up. Im still keeping my hair somewhat longer. I just need a trim. I'd buzz my head again but my fiance would kill me (I wonder if she'll read this).
Started off the week at TimberStone golf course. Working open to close on our all day shifts. We the temperature got all the way up to 46° and NO SNOW!! We only had 16 players out on the course but I figured we were slow because everyone was back to work starting the new year. We are getting in new golf clubs every day. Most of them are our fitting clubs. Pretty fun time of the year to get and see all the new equipment coming out. Gets the juices going. As some of you know I am working on getting my Class A PGA card. My ultimate goal is to become a director of golf. I am currently in level 1 and just about to move on to level 2 (there are 3 levels). If you are wondering, no this is not to play golf on the PGA Tour. What I am doing is completely different lol. I am a golf professional not a professional golfer. Although, I do get to play professionally in our local section. I spent 3 years in the Utah PGA Section and this year will be my first full year in the Rocky Mountain PGA Section. If you ever have any questions about golf, my journey, what working at a golf course is like, don't hesitate to reach out.
Next on the schedule was Owyhee vs Meridian in basketball. I am working for Owyhee boys basketball for the 2025-26 season. Recapping videos and highlights from each game. The boys struggled. They lost by 2 points. I dont know the stats but if i had to guess they probably shot less than 30% from the floor. These guys are good too. All of them can play at the collegiate level, DI, DII, DIII, NAIA, JUCO, you name it any one of these kids can play. There is a good mix of seniors, juniors and sophomores that get actual minutes. I go to the JV games when I can make it that early. Theres a sophomore by the name of Luke Read. He's probably around 6'6 and is an ATHLETE. Can dribble, pass, shoot and throws down some nasty dunks. Keep track of that name. Im calling it here, this kid is gonna go places at the next level.
Tuesday night was also a little rough for me health wise. Some of you know and some may not but I've been struggling to get healthy. Doctors and specialists aren't quite sure what is wrong with me. Back in November my fiance, brother and sister in law went to Arizona to watch the 49'ers play the Cardinals. I made it through barely 2 quarters and had to find the medics. I nearly passed out, threw up, and had blood pressure of 180/120. They took me to the E.R. and i was in there for nearly 7 hours. Got pumped with IV's and did a ton of tests and they all came back negative. Made it back home alright but have been feeling out of it on and off again.
Wednesday and Thursday I felt really out of it and couldn't go in to work. I pretty much stayed at home in bed and rested up. I have had no appetite and have lost nearly 10 pounds in 4 days. These days weren't spent updating my website, cleaning my computer and getting it ready for all the events in 2026, checking emails and updating the golf course with as much as I could while being home. I also, scrolled a lot on Tik Tok for inspiration on videos, photos, and graphics.
Friday was a pretty scary day for me. I went to Telica Imaging to get an MRI on my brain. Hoping to get any answers but looking for good answers to what could possibly be wrong with me. Good news is that there are no tumors or any abnormalities in my brain (yes, some of you may still say there might be something wrong and I'm not the smartest lol). But in all seriousness this was great news to here but still no definite answers yet. More tests to come.
I felt well enough to head to Owyhee's game at Boise High School. On paper this was going to be a good match up. Boise High was 9-0 going into the game and Owyhee was 6-6. Owyhee took the lead early and never gave the Brave a chance. They ended up winning the game 68-54. Highlight plays and dunks from Canaan, Braylon, Logan, and practically the whole team. The cool thing about this team is that there are 12-13 of them and even though not all of them get to play every minute they are always cheering for each other and picking each other up. Everyone is engaged on the bench and ready to be called on at any point in the game.
January 10th was a day I had marked on my calendar virtually as soon as I moved. On this date the Utah State Aggies Men's Basketball team came up to Boise to play Boise State. Ive grown very close with a lot of people at Utah State from the creative/marketing team, basketball, football, soccer and many others along the way. Over the past 3 years I've probably been to hundreds of Utah State games and its been weird not being at them this year. So i was extremely excited for this game. To be able to see some of the guys on the team that i consider friends and catch up with them before the game. Photography has been so amazing opening a lot of doors and opportunities but mostly about making real connections. Making friendships beyond sports.
The game was incredible on the Aggies' end. Dominating the entire game. Watching the players that stayed from last year that just gel so well with the new players this year was incredible. These guys really play as a team and thrive off of each other. If you are reading this and you are in the Utah area, GET TO AN AGGIE BASKETBALL GAME.
FIRST WEEKEND OF NFL PLAYOFFS. If you know me you know I've been a 9'ers fan my whole life. Through the good, the bad, the ugly, and the good again. No, I don't know every player that has played on the team and what college they played at, but I have stayed up with them since I was 9-10 years old when I first played tackle football. The 49'ers played the Eagles and had no right to win this game. MANY starters banged up and not even playing. BUT they got it done! moving on to week 2 at the Seattle Seahawks. No, they should not win that game either but it will always been a good game against the hawks.
This week has been a rollercoaster but that is my life. Looking forward to a new week, more games, more time at TimberStone, and some answers. Thank you for following along. Huge thank you to everyone that read last week and reached out to me. Truly means a lot! 40 people read last week and that was about 38 more than I guessed. So thank you!! Hopefully some more fun, excited and good things come in the future to share with y'all! Till next week!
Created 5 graphics, 1 post, 2 reels. Photos for Utah State Basketball, collabed with the USU Hurd. Week 2 complete.
